Sunset At Dawn (Feature Script) Opening Montage Sequence
In revolutionary Cuba, 1959, three musicians journey to California for fame, fortune and freedom. Their lives are plunged into danger when the sinister belly of Hollywood threatens their dreams.
Concept:
This is a satirical allegory about the human journey to heaven. The underlying story is about achieving ever-lasting life in heaven. The golden age of Hollywood was filled with glitter and glamour, but this story seeks to show that the land of dreams is built on lies.
Characters:
Pio, 23, a jobless hearthrob, mediating between the other two protagonists, pertains to realism rather than optimism or pessimism. A struggling romantic who cautiously steps through life, yet unsure about what he wants from life.
Compay, 23, a fisherman, is susceptible to impulse decisions, blinded by his arrogance and falling to his primal temptations of lust, popularity and anger.
Ruben, 25, a cigar roller, tries to be an upstanding person, who supposes he’s inherently good. The crushing weight of the western world chips away at his morals until he can no longer live a life of lies.
Tiara Venus, 26, daughter of a rich American syndicate. Cunning and deceitful, she acts impulsive to seem innocent. She represents the Devil luring humans into hell.
Sylvester, 50, a charmingly brash studio executive in California. In charge of a mega multi-media company, he has become a household name for the American people. Sylvester is the titan our musicians answer to, embodying nothing but greed, the supposed root of all evil.
